Typical duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Provide leadership to all employees and support decisions and policies as directed by the company.

• Assist in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and priorities.

• Plan, coordinate, supervise and review the work of the service tech’s, shop personnel and assistant service manager engaged in the installation of, repair, parts ordering and rebuilding of bakery and food service equipment.

• Receive, investigate, and resolve all customer complaints.

• Check all service personnel’s equipment required to service and repair bakery and food service equipment and keep in order.

• Prepare cost estimates and proposals for customer installation, maintenance and repair projects.

• Order materials and supplies for customers and service / installation projects.

• Inspect work in progress and on completion, providing advice and assistance on service and shop projects (this may include performing the service call or repair if needed).

• Maintain records of materials, time and equipment.

• Coordinate installation, service and repair activities with other contractors, customers, and home office.

• Supervise, train and evaluate service and shop personnel.

• Attend and participate in all training and office meetings.

• Assist and participate in staff meetings.

• Maintain and observe overtime with service crew.
• Develop and maintain safety procedures, records, and training.

• Assist in new service / shop interviews and the hiring process.

• Serve as Acting Field Service Operations Manager as required.

• Insure service work, shop work is completed in a timely fashion and all paperwork is completed.

• Direct and / or assist personnel in the completion of parts orders, quotations, and evaluations to insure that projects are completed in a profitable fashion.

• Coordinate the internal communications between Field Service Manager and Management.

• Provide service and shop personnel with proper special testing equipment and literature in order to complete there tasks in a timely and efficient manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of:
• Materials, methods, practices and equipment used in all food service and bakery equipment activities.

• Safe work practices.

• Safe driving principles and practices.

Ability to:
• Keep records and make reports.

• Interpret and work from sketches, diagrams and blueprints and to prepare plans for minor projects.

• Understand and carry out oral and written instructions.

• Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.

• Select, supervise, train and evaluate subordinates.
